  1. Apple cake. Your mom made it from scratch and it was yummeralishious.
    You meant your mom, right?

  2. Actually, I meant "Mom" in a universal way...I'm sure MY mom will be pleased to know, though.

Grandma Cox made chicken fried in lard. Nothing like it. And don't forget the homemade donuts.

  5. Homemade applesauce, yellow cake with chocolate frosting, roast, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes

  6. Ugh!! I didn't like ANY of that stuff (except the chocolate chip cookies). And my grandma made those the best... Maybe that's what's wrong with my kitchen skills! :-)

  8. Grandma Cox made rockin' chicken but the rest of the meal was usually pretty weak as I remember. Icky salad with colored marshmallow and coconut. Burnt pie for dessert. She did make up for all of that with white gravy over mashed potatoes. How did she make the gravy white? Did she start with fresh lard? Hmmm, tis a puzzlement.

  9. I need to second the gravy one. Mom makes the best chicken gravy over mashed potatos. And fresh apple pie. And raspberry jelly. oh the list could go on forever...

  10. Richard, depending on what kind of beer she brought back, that could be a good or bad kind of beer run(s), think?

  11. mom made really big, puffy dumplings; I'd put Cheryl's chocolate chip cookies up against anybody's and my brother John, bakes awesome bread.

Rich! You make me sound like a I buy for minors. You are old enough to buy for yourself (and make your own). I just like to make you feel at home here, and get you to do things to my car...lovemom
