...on the day I worked so hard to straighten my hair. Having long hair is a new experience for me. It's very easy to just put it in a mommy-tail and go. Does anybody have any tips for a pretty, mommy-friendly, long-hair-challenged gal?
I straighten everyday, regardless. It makes me feel more professional. However, if I didn't need to look professional, I would often sport the "schmacktify." If you need a lesson, I'll be right over.
My ultimate lazy but presentable hair-do: while hair is still wet and you're running five minutes late, part your hair on the side, twist it into a low bun, and pin with a really cool clip.
Erin, you also look really pretty with half of your hair pulled back (half pony tail). Another thing along those lines you could try is using 2 clips, and pinning just the two sides back (like a half pony but with two clips.) I think that would look really pretty on you too. I'd also LOVE to see you rock two braids. I'm serious. It doesn't take long, and it's very cute (and young:)
when i wear my hair straight it takes me and hour to do with my friendly chi, and yes it has rained on me and i was so mad. but then i realized if you embrace it and let it be you will end up with that beachy wavy look and its so pretty. also you can stick some aveda phomollient in your car, they have travel sizes, so if it rains you can just throw a little of that in and it will stay a little more polished wavy. dont forget you have beautiful shiney hair that most of us have to work really hard to acheive.
When is has rained on my after the efforts of straightening I have used hand lotion in a pinch. Make sure to use a VERY SMALL amount and it takes the friz away and leaves you with a manageable wave.

I do the ponytail turned bun. My sister calls it a crackhead ponytail. It works for me! :)

I have to say I am a fan of the mommy-tail.

Momtail-6 days a week
Straightened on Sundays. That's my regimen.
A nice perm always worked for me. But that was back in the 80's. Of course there's always the headband.
