Cry Room

It was a tough night tonight in the Cry Room.
Shirley, usually very social and thrilled to spend an hour with Miss Jonay, completely FREAKED in the nursery, so we sat in the Cry Room, where she bonked her head on the chair and stabbed herself with her spoon when I gave it to her for entertainment.
All the while, little Courtney Jo filled two, yes TWO diapers, filling the whole room with giggles and shaking shoulders.
I don't think my mom heard a full sermon from 1981 to 1998 and I'm beginning to see why.
I can't think of anything for which I would trade a full sermon.

listen to them online at nap time. A luxury your mom did not have!

i used to come home and cry after church when the twins were that age and until they were about 3-1/2. it's almost traumatizing. keep fighting the good fight. you'll hear it again - and then you'll be glad you invested the time in teaching her to sit still(er) and be quiet(er). :)

Ha! I didn't know you posted about the evening in the cry room too! I also didn't realize all that was going on with Shirley either--the spoon stabbing and head bonking and all. Good perspective, though--I wouldn't trade it for the world either. :)
