New Bike

I got a new bike.
I had visions of riding all over St. Paul with Shirley in our matching helmets and our cute Burley trailer, saving the Earth from the noxious fumes of our mini-van.
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret.
Riding a bike...is a workout.
It hurts. A lot.
I'm not sure I'm that into my new bike anymore.

Yeah, I'm not sure I like my bike anymore either. When I was 15 it seemed like no big deal to ride my bike a few miles. Now it SUCKS! :)

Too bad that you had to go all the way to North Carolina to get it when it's not going to work out for you:)

Noxious fumes are actually not so bad, right, considering the alternative? This made me smile, because I have felt the same way before. It does get better, much better, if you stick with it, even a week. You start to develop calluses in places you didn't even know you could get calluses and then the sheer exhuastion turns in to just plain ol' exhaustion (the good kind) which isn't so bad. And think of the money you are saving, the great role model you're being, and the exercise you're getting. You go girls!

Go with the gel seat my love. Makes all the difference. Your seat will be adorable and NOT SORE!
