That's My Sister!

Hockey and Basketball Deliver CSB Athletes of the Week
11/20/2007
The College of Saint Benedict Athletic department has named their athletes of the week.

First-year goaltender Amanda Plumm (Lake Elmo, Minn/Lake Elmo) stopped 41 St. Mary’s shots en route to a shutout and a 1-0 win on Saturday. So far Plumm has tallied 90 stops on the season.

First-year wing Laura Canton (Pine Island, Minn./Pine Island) scored 17 points and grabbed four rebounds in her first collegiate basketball game, a 90-52 win over Fontbonne University.

YEAH, NOONIE! Good work. You're making your mark at college already! I couldn't be more proud.

My Birthday

I had a wonderful birthday.
I got to sleep in, then Rich and I drove to St. Cloud to watch Mandi play hockey. She was AWESOME! It was St. Ben's first conference win AND a shut out, led by freshman goalie, my sister! What a fun game to watch.
Afterword, Rich, Mandi and I went out to dinner and then to the mall where Richard bought me a pair of aquamarine earrings (the birthstone of our baby) for my birthday. They can be seen here (click on the photo to zoom in).
We came home andd I got to spend two hours reading Love in the time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, my all time favorite author of all time. That's two all times. THE MOVIE CAME OUT ON FRIDAY!!!! I'm trying to finish the book (again) in time to see it before it leaves the theaters. I have low hopes. Anything I like doesn't last long...
Anyhow, could a girl ask for more for her birthday? Really?
Here are some photos from the day:

Feelings

You know that feeling you get when
STILLWATER WINS STATE?
Because I do.
Mandi was incredible, only letting in four goals in the entire tournament.
What a great end to a high school career for Mandi, and a fabulous end to any season.
Mandi, we are all very proud of you--great job!

Feeling Better

At least I was until I wrote a great blog and deleted ALL of it. Gr.
I'm feeling refreshed, and looking forward to my weekend. I even like my job a little bit!
We had a blast a Mandi's game last night. In the first game of the State Tournament, we beat Bemidji 3-1. We nearly had a shutout, but they got one past Mandi's shoulder in the last three minutes of the game.
Tonight should be fun--we play our arch rivals, Roseville at 8pm. The game will be televised, so if you are flipping through tonight, watch for us! Or better yet, come on down! We play at the Xcel center and it's $10 for adults.

Rich helping Josh and Emma enjoy their first-ever hockey game, with Cara, the best cheerleader, EVER.

If you loook close, you can see Bob getting interviewed--center of the frame, baseball cap.

The pep band.

Section Champs!

My weekend went by so fast, I don't think I even sat down--until Sunday night when Mandi and I started a puzzle...
The best part of my weekend, however was that

Stillwater Girl's Hockey are the '06-'07 Section Champs!

We beat Centennial High 3-0.

It was the best game of all time. Mandi was the star of the game, a BRICK WALL, if you will and didn't let in a single goal. She was voted player of the game by the team parents. : )

The Ponies scored all three goals within 38 seconds in the second period. Talk about exciting! By the third goal, people were laughing and cheering in sheer disbelief.

So...the State Tournament begins on Thursday.

Good luck, Stillwater!

Go Ponies!

Another great shot...

For What it's Worth

For what it's worth, I logged in to blogger 3 times yesterday and couldn't think of a single thing to say. Today, since I still don't have much to say, I thought I'd show you what I've been up to.

This is me. Just kidding. My favorite pic of all time of Mandi. Look close at her face. She's laughing at me because she knows I'm about to get in trouble for taking her photo.

Where's Waldo?

Lookin great after painting two of Sarah's bedrooms.

That's freakin' sweet!

Lucy and Pedro very tired out. By the way, don't use that pillow. It's Pedro's.
