Maybe Obama has the right idea...

Dear Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois,
Let me get this straight.
You would rather pay to care for a child who contracts whooping cough or polio than pay for her vaccines through the end of 2008? I understand the odds are slim, but this is a child, not a number.
You'll get your $458 from me when I have it.
Perhaps I'll pay you after the first of the year when Shirley goes in to have her next round--instead of next week like she was previously scheduled.
Merry Christmas,
Erin

That is well baby care. How can they not pay?

Maybe? Maybe not.

Mom, that's what I thought, too, but apparently they only cover $500 of well baby care per calendar year, including vaccinations. We met our limit in September.

Insurance problems suck. Thanks for the heads up on your headache though - it makes me think I should maybe read my policy a little closer. Sorry for you though, Erin :(

Oh, it's ok, Jolene. It'll be just fine. She can wait two more weeks for her 9 month appt.
Carla, you know I was kidding, right?

Yeah. Sorry for the ins. mess. :(

There is no rush on shots, you don't even have to get them. My kids have not had any. I have read that any time within the first 3 years is fine, and to always only get one shot at a time, never group them up. They really just want your money. If you are going to do it anyway, Make sure you ask for the Mercury free/Thimerosal free shots, it is worth the $4.00 extra cost. The nurses will act stupid, and give you excuses, but make them read the ingredients label to you.

We got charged last time too. Not that much though. Gracie has an appointment on Tuesday...maybe I need to make a phone call first!
