Omens

Today is going to be a bad day.
Know how I know?

  • I left work last night at 6pm.
  • I stayed up past midnight baking cookies and muffins for the United Way Bake Sale today.
  • It took me an hour and a half to drive 17 miles to work this morning.
  • I passed a man walking a three-legged chihuahua.
These are all bad signs.
Here's what I made last night--they turned out REALLY well.

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese "Muffins"

Frosted sugar cookies
They wer put in a similar package to the "muffins."

Erin, the cookies are adorable! I love the fall leaf theme. Good work! They all look delicious! I was super excited about the "muffin" recipe and went into the kitchen to make them this morning, but alas! I only had a half a package of cream cheese. :( I am going to try them soon though, because YUM-O!

The food was beautiful. Hope you raised a ton of money. That would make your day better, right?

Ok, seriously a 3 legged Chihuahua?! No offense, your baked stuff looked delicious and all (my favorite is brownies, hint hint) but I can't gloss over that dog. Was it a front leg or a back leg? I've always wanted to teach a dog to walk around on hind legs all the time...now I'm just rambling. Seriously though, thanks for visual of the Chihuahua.

My husband's friend from highschool had a three legged dog...his real name was Chippy, but they nicknamed him Tri-pod...he always seemed to hop around easily.

I love the food, Did you make the frosting or buy the frosting? and I agree with Naomi, I was going to run out and make the muffins, but alas I didn't have any cream.

Erin, you said you had all the ingredients at home for the 'muffins' cupcakes. Did you seriously have cream? Please tell me you don't keep that in the pantry.

There's an episode of Green Acres where Lisa tries to pour cream for a guest and it's petrified from sitting in the cupboard. Ah, but now I'm rambling like Paul. Must be Thursday.

3-legged dog? Wonder what the word is for 'Hop' in Spanish?

Thanks Paul--It took long enough for someone to notice.

Yeah, 3-legged dog...
I wrote you a short story
about a poor man.

His dog had 3 legs
Prosthetics were too costly;
He made a fake leg.

It was half of a
old, white, surplus toilet seat.
It was hard to use.

The man worked all night
carving the prosthetic leg,
but could not decide

if the leg should curve
toward the front, or the back.
The dog's name was 'Claire'

The man could not sleep;
the leather harness design
was far too complex.

When it was finished
the weight made Claire walk funny;
she made big circles.

Squatting made Claire fall.
She gave up trying to poop
when she wore the leg.

The man was trying
to put the leg back on Claire.
Claire gave him a push.

He fell in the street;
The bus driver tried to swerve
Claire did not look back.

i once saw a three-legged-chihuahua
hopping along down the street
oh, how I wondered did it ever
only get by on three feet?

Take that Mr. Felton

You should have told me you were having a bake-a-thon at your house--I would have been delighted to come and help you bake away! :) Next time.....
